Ergonomics and design:
The lens is well assembled in a metal frame. The assembly of glass and iron, which will survive the Chinese plastic, as well as us. The design is somewhat reminiscent of Helios-81N, but in contrast it looks more massive. The focus ring rotates 270 degrees, while the front part extends 10 mm. This allows sharper focusing. The front lens does not rotate.
The diaphragm has 6 blackened petals and is closed by half-stops. The lens has an H mount, and can be used without problems on Nikon SLR cameras with a working aperture preset.
Art features and photo examples:
It is worth saying that the resolution of the lens (center / edge) is 40/21 lines / mm. For their era, these are good indicators. On an open aperture, sharpness is good. Small spherical aberrations are observed. Suitable for portraits.
The color rendition is nice, and it also draws beautiful nice bokeh. The MDF of the lens is 24 cm. With a focal length of 35 mm, you can shoot a good macro. And with macro rings you can achieve a very good approximation.
The 24N world is becoming a standard lens with an angle of view as for 50mm on cameras with a cropped matrix, therefore it can be used as a standard lens for all occasions.
Mir-24N is an excellent wide-angle lens, interesting for its picture and viewing angle. Well suited for architectural, landscape and genre shooting. The lens gives an excellent viewing angle on the multi-sensor and can be used as a fast wide-angle lens in full frame.
